UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson :

We ask you to give every UK citizen 14 days paid vacations, and cover our rents. If the whole world does this, all at the same time, we can beat covid-19 to its knees -- and give scientists and our hospitals the urgent time to prepare, as the world slowly opens up again afterwards.

What if we could make the world stand still for two weeks?

No more airplanes in the sky, cars on the road, smoke in the air. No more new transmission of Covid-19, which would die out on every contaminated surface while anyone who has it would show symptoms and could be isolated and treated.

We could basically kill coronavirus in these 14 days, if the entire world would take part. And the way fewer cases that will be left afterwards, will be much easier to be taken care of, as the world slowly opens up again.

Governments would pay people to stay home, and cover their rent for 14 days. Taking these two weeks to be with our families, to slow down from an insanely fast moving world.

It would also give our badly wounded planet a moment to recover. To breath again.
